Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Thighs
Super easy and crispy chicken thighs made in the air fryer. No overnight prepping! In about 30 minutes you will have dinner ready.
Why this recipe is so good?
- It’s easy. You only need 5 ingredients: chicken thighs, soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
- The chicken skin gets really crispy!
- Cooking in the air fryer cuts the additional fat that you may get with fried chicken.
How to get crispy chicken skin?
I start by pre-heating my air fryer (like you would your regular oven) for 10 to 15 minutes. I place the skin side down when I am initially cooking it and flipping it over halfway.
What Type of Air Fryer I Use?
My Air Fryer is Faberware 6 quart it can fit up to about 4-5 chicken thighs depending on how large the chicken thighs are. If your air fryer is smaller you would need to cook your chicken in batches to make sure there is adequate space around the chicken.
Let’s get started!
- Preheat your air fryer for 10-15 minutes at 400 degrees F.
- First cut off any excess fat off your chicken thighs.
- Add chicken thighs to a bowl, along with thin soy sauce, garlic powder, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Mix well.
- Add your chicken thighs to your air fryer, skin down. Making sure there is adequate room around each piece of chicken.
- Cook chicken for 13 minutes skin down at 400 degrees F. Then flip chicken thighs over and cook with skin side up for 10 minutes. If using a food thermometer, make sure the internal temperature for the chicken thighs reaches 165 degrees F.
- Serve chicken hot and enjoy!
