Smashed Potatoes
These smashed potatoes are crunchy and golden brown. They are great served as an appetizer or a side dish.
This recipe is super simple and include 6 ingredients. I love these because once they are prepped you can put them in the oven for about 20 minutes and set your timer and forget about them. Once you hear your timer goes off you have the perfect crispy potatoes.

It’s quite easy and quick.
Boil the potatoes. Drain the potatoes. Smashed the potatoes. Add olive oil and seasoning. Place in oven and bake. Then serve.

There are multiple ways to smash the potatoes. You can use a potato masher, the back of a cup, fork, or even the heel of your hand (must wait until potatoes are completely cooled down- caution not to burn yourself).

Smashed Potatoes
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs small to medium red or yellow potatoes
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- ¼ tsp garlic
- salt to taste about ½ tsp – 1 tsp
- ground black pepper
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley or green onions
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 F.
- Wash potatoes.
- Put water and a pinch of salt in a pot and bring to a boil.
- Add potatoes to the pot and cook for about 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender and easily pierced through by a fork.
- When potatoes are done, drain them.
- Spray baking pan with cooking oil.
- Evenly distribute the potatoes on a single layer over the baking pan and use a potato masher (or fork) gently flattening each potato.
- Drizzle olive oil over smashed potatoes. Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and black pepper on the potatoes.
- Baked the potatoes until golden brown about 20-25 minutes. Broil potatoes for 2 minutes to get the potatoes golden and crispy. Sprinkle fresh herbs on potatoes and serve hot.
