Buffalo Cauliflower Wings
These crispy buffalo cauliflower wings are addicting.
If you know me one of my go to foods when I don’t feel like cooking is chicken wings. Why? Because it’s easy. And if I am being completely honest, the wing spot near my house has a drive thru… so yes super convenient…don’t judge me lol . My love for chicken wings inspired me to try a great recipe for buffalo cauliflower wings.
These buffalo cauliflower wings are perfect for game day, parties, or even for days you want wings, but don’t want to eat meat.
What do I love about this recipe?
It has a little kick and tanginess, and it includes a vegetable!

For all my meat eaters:
I promise this meal is like by both vegans and meat eaters.
For Vegan Buffalo Wings:
Replace butter with olive oil and replace milk with water.
For Low Carb Keto Wings:
Try using almond flour as a replacement. NOTE: I have not tried this substitution (I am allergic to nuts) but have heard from many people it works!
To Make This Recipe Even Healthier:
Omit the butter (or olive oil) all together from the recipe. The butter adds more flavor and helps the sauce adhere to the cauliflower, but omitting it works also!
What Hot Sauce to Use?
My favorite go to wing sauce is Frank’s RedHot Original Buffalo Wing Sauce, but you can use your favorite hot sauce.
How to Cut the Cauliflower?
One thing about me is that I never waste food. So you will notice that my cauliflower bites have the cauliflower stems on them, if you would like to make your cauliflower appear more like chicken nuggets then cutting off the stem is an option.
Depending on my mood I cut the cauliflower florets in two ways. I start with cutting the cauliflower head in half and then angling my knife, I cut out the cauliflower core. At this point you either pull the cauliflower florets with your hands into pieces or use a knife to cut them. Either option works. I usually break pieces of cauliflower with my hands and the other pieces that are too large I cut them in half.

Buffalo Cauliflower Wings
Ingredients
- cooking spray
- 1 head cauliflower cut into florets
- olive oil
- 1/2 cup flour (if you have a large cauliflower you may need to add 1/4 extra cup of flour if flour does not appear to cover all cauliflower florets)
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 6 tbsp water (or milk)
- 1 - 1 ¼ cup buffalo sauce (this will vary depending on the size of your cauliflower, the larger cauliflower head the more buffalo sauce you will need)
- 3 tsp butter (or oil)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425-degree F.
- Line a baking tray with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray (the addition of cooking spray will allow a crispy crust to form on your cauliflower).
- Place cauliflower florets in a large bowl or large ziplock bag. Toss in olive oil and water. Add flour and garlic powder and toss until evenly coated.
- Add a single layer of cauliflower to the baking tray. Make sure there is space in between cauliflower florets (this allows extra crispiness).
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- While cauliflower is baking, place saucepan on stove at low to medium heat. Place butter in pan and hot sauce.
- After cauliflower wings have been baking for 15 minutes, toss in hot sauce mixture.
- Place cauliflower back on baking sheet. Spray with cooking oil. Bake for another 10 minutes.
- Then broil for 3-4 minutes until nice and brown. Be sure to keep an eye on them so the cauliflower wings don’t burn.
- Serve hot with ranch dressing (or dressing of choice).
